Spanish adventures

Having never been to mainland Spain myself this year my family and I decided to fly over for our annual summer getaway. After holiday shopping for months and finally managing to cram everything into a few suitcase we jumped on a train down to Heathrow and then continued our journey over to Barcelona.

We stayed near a small, eastern, coastal town named Alcossebre roughly 2 1/2 hours from Barcelona, however we were in the hills which means larger houses and tremendous views!

As you will see for the majority of the holiday we spent our days lounging in the sun with a good book before jumping in the pool to cool off!

These are the elephants and giraffes in the Bioparc in Valencia, it was like being on safari! A must visit if you're in the area!

One evening we travelled a short distance to Peniscola, another beautiful place on the coast with gorgeous beaches and a walled old town full of character. We decided to eat first and walk up and down the cobbled streets in darkness so it was a little cooler, although we still had to stop for ice cream at the top!

These final pictures are from one of my favourite days of the holiday...segway day! Having never step foot on such a contraption I was rather intrigued to see what all the fuss was about, I can't say the same about everyone else though....there was a definitely a few worried faces as we tried to get to grips with them. Of course it did feel bizarre at first but after only a few minutes it seemed everyone had got the hang of them and we could begin our short journey to the lighthouse and back.

Hope you enjoyed this little insight into my holiday and it doesn't make you miss summer too much!
I'm now looking forward to the autumnal months and cold walks with the puppy!
